Dancing Squid Rice Bowl

What you're about to see is known as  "Odori-don", a Japanese delicacy meaning "Dancing Squid Rice Bowl". Odori-don is a type of squid sashimi that uses Soy Sauce which makes the muscles twitch creating the illusion of bringing it back from the dead.

Ikizukuri is a controversial method of preparing sashimi while its still alive and is banned in Australia. The head is cut off and served in small slices on the side while the rest of it is served on a plate of rice and salmon roe.

This video was taken in Hokkaido’s Ikkatei Tabiji restaurant by Richard Fan.

Here's another example demonstrating the chemical reaction caused by salt on frog's legs.
